What Not To Do When in Credit Card Troubles

A lot of people are enjoying the conveniences that their credit cards bring. They enjoy being able to buy things anytime, anywhere with just one swipe, without the need to bring big chunks of cash. However, that is not always the case for everyone. A lot of people have had problems with their credit accounts, trying to get their credit scores as perfect as possible.

Most credit card users have problems with their credit cards and turn out to be full of debt in the end. And most often than not, they all resort to closing their credit cards. What they do not know is this is the worst thing they can possibly do and will not do their credit scores any good at all. Because for one, when you decide to close a credit card, it will make a mark on your free credit report which will definitely do damage your credit score.

Another negative effect of closing your credit cards will be that your respective credit companies and agencies will think that you are not responsible enough to pay your own bills which is why you closed such account. This will give you a hard time in applying for another credit card because other companies will think that you have every capacity of running away from them just as you did in the past. This will also lower your credit score a lot which is not good for a credit account holder like you.

There are some credit cards that are sure to have negative effects on you if you close them down such as those credit cards with balance remaining in it. This type of credit card should not be closed at all because once it is closed; the available credit will drop to $0 no matter how big the amount left was. And with your credit balance amounting to $0, your credit companies will think that your credit card has been maxed out and this will surely get your credit score lower.

Another type of credit card which should not be closed is your only credit card. You will only be able to use and feel the full effects of the conveniences of credit cards if and only if you know how to use them well because mismanagement may lead to closure. If you close your only credit card, it will not only make damage with you score but it will also give you a hard time when you want to apply for new credit card accounts because of the thinking that you lack experience.
